Aging Workforce Research
Pilot Project
The population of the WDB Region is aging at a significantly higher rate than the Province of Ontario, leading to the loss of valuable workforce skills and experience. By working with industry, community partners and older employees the Aging Workforce Committee is conducting research to determine the factors that will be of assistance in maintaining the contributions of older workers to the labour force within local sectors. Other research will explore the meaning of aging, the values & meaning of work, the costs & contributions of care giving, and the definition of retirement.
