Business, industry and the Workforce Development Board have been partners for well over a decade. Together, we are key participants in community consultations to identify trends and opportunities in the labour market that impact the workforce.
Ensuring a skilled workforce in the future is critical for sustainable growth of the economy at the local, provincial and national levels. By hosting Regional Skills Competitions for Grade 11 & 12 students, the WDB encourages young people to consider a skilled trade as a career.
To stay connected, the Board is involved with many community organizations such as two Manufacturers Associations, local apprenticeship committees, employment networking groups and other local planning and coordinating organizations.
